Our Story
The Otukpe Family
“In January 2023, while serving in youth and young adult ministry, I found myself wrestling with a question:
“Where is a church in San Antonio that is gospel-centered, with expository preaching, missional minded, multiplication-focused, discipleship-driven, multi-cultural, and multi-generational?”
The more I prayed and talked with friends, the more I realized I couldn’t find a church living out all seven of these convictions together. Rather than setting it aside, I sensed the Holy Spirit say,
“If it doesn’t exist, then go and plant it.”
What began as a question became a calling. A calling that, when reflecting back on both mine and Sophia’s lives (and hardwirings) has been orchestrated by God. From the very beginning, from S.O. the Christian artist, to Sophia the missionary, God had been preparing us for this moment. God had already given us a unique passion and gift: the ability to connect with people from every background and culture, and to see the beauty of Christ reflected in diverse expressions of faith.

Why The Table
In Luke 14:16–23, Jesus tells a story about a great banquet. When the expected guests refuse the invitation, the host opens the doors wide—inviting the poor, the overlooked, the outsider, and the stranger—until the table is full.
This is the heart of God.
Jesus is not building a private gathering, but a generous table where grace is offered freely and everyone is invited.
At The Table, we believe the table is where lives are changed. It’s where strangers become friends, friends become family, and all of us learn to treasure Christ together. Around the table, we encounter Jesus, are formed by His Spirit, and are sent to live out His mission in the world.
